Five Golden Rings

Possibly, the longest Christmas carol on record, “The 12 Days of Christmas,” has enough repetitive verses to wear out even the healthiest of voices. Somewhere amidst the drummers, geese and lords, are five golden rings. While jewelry is a lovely holiday gift, I see the rings in the song as methaphors. Here’s what I mean:

Golden Ring 1: Kindness – Most are more than willing to express kindness to others. And, it’s certainly nice when that happens. But, like I share with my psychic consultation clients, don’t forget to be kind to yourself as well! Too often, we beat ourselves up over ill choices. Remember: mistakes can be corrected or redeemed.

Golden Ring 2: Passion – All have the ability to identify and nourish that which enriches our lives. So, do it! I mentioned to a client the other day, “You really have a talent for baking. You could even create a cookbook.”

She smiled and said, “I’ve never told anyone, but that’s a secret dream of mine.” What followed was a discussion of embracing and activating her passion.

Golden Ring 3: Humor – Laughter is good for the soul. There are plenty of choices too: watch a funny movie, catch an episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” read a comic strip, etc. Finding humor in that which surrounds us is important, but it’s also essential that we learn to laugh at ourselves. I told a client earlier this month, “Despite your situation, the Universe is encouraging you to find angles or moments worthy of laughter.”

He nodded and said, “Funny, you should say that. I’ve been thinking the exact same thing.”

Golden Ring 4: Faith – Start with believing in yourself. Even in tough times, we all have a divine connection. Tap into the power. Once that’s established, expand that faith to a much larger scale. While war and crime are regular newscast features, we must have faith that the greater good in the world far exceeds the pockets of hate and destruction.

Golden Ring 5: Love – It’s the greatest gift. Period.

Now, what to do about this partridge in a pear tree? Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Love and light,

Tony

Love this posting Tony. And, I have some advice to give you regarding the partridge in a pear tree. Now listen up because this is important. If you see a partridge in a pear tree, don’t, I repeat, Don’t stand under it to take a photo. 🙂 Humor was my favorite “golden ring”. 🙂
