Buzz Words

In all of our professions, there are dozens of words and lingos that are used daily. For Fortune 500 folks, it’s called “corporate speak,” which includes acronyms like ROI, IPO or RIF (sounds more like “alphabet soup”). Yet, all jobs have them – think about police officers or hospital staff with their codes. As an intuitive counselor, I’ve got a few buzz words that I use as well.

However, I want to be sure that I’m not tossing around words like spirituality, intuitive, psychic, universe as if they were frisbees, expecting readers to simply catch what I’m sharing. I’ve been swimming around in this pool for nearly four years and I continue to learn something new each day about what I do. If you’re a reader of my blog, perhaps you’re wanting to explore more about spirituality and how to grow your own life as well.

For starters, spirituality means two things to me. First, it’s how I relate to to God (Creator or whatever you choose to call the higher source) and divine creations – the environment, other people, animals, emotions. It’s a rather infinite list. Second, it’s my relationship with the co-existence of the physical and spiritual realms of energy. Outside of our human lives, there are multi-spiritual levels. Two of the best books I’ve read on this subject are Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton.

When I use the word, universe, I’m referring to an all-encompassing higher power. And, how that source aligns with the various forms of energies with which I come in contact.

Finally, I’m an intuitive counselor, which some of my friends think are fancy words for psychic (or a way to avoid being called Miss Cleo). I chose the title, intuitive counselor, because I wanted to express that I’m here to assist or guide others with tapping into their own relationships with the universe and what they want to manifest into their lives. It’s not just me doing the talking (or sharing information from the higher source), there’s a constant exchange of energy taking place during the sessions. While psychic (one who perceives information) is certainly an appropriate noun to call me as well, I tend to use it more as subtext. And, I don’t wear a turban or preside over a huge crystal ball (not that there’s anything wrong with that…it’s just not me).

As I continue to share my blog, please let me know if I use buzz words that sound exclusive or just aren’t clear. The last thing I want to be is a buzz kill.

Love and light,

Tony

A big YES to your Intuitive Counselor title. That, to me, get’s to the secret sauce of spiritual work—which is we all have everything we need, it’s a matter of each of us finding our way of breaking down the barriers to what is already ours–not having someone tell us what they think is ours . . . With you –jim
